The road to 100 new faith communities will not be a single road. It will have multiple paths, and we need all of them.

The DST Map gives us one important pathway. It helps us identify strategic mission fields, population shifts, community needs, and places where new faith communities are most needed.

That work matters deeply.

But the movement cannot be limited to just this map.

If we are going to reach 100 new faith communities, every church needs to see itself as part of the mission. Some churches may help launch a new congregation. Others may start a fresh expression. Some may create a new ministry to reach new people. Others may send leaders, offer space, provide funding, pray, coach, partner, or encourage. We will encourage to go “off-map” to where God is calling your church.

Local churches of every size can pray, partner, resource, and experiment.

This is how a conference-wide multiplication culture takes root.

100 new faith communities will require more than a strategy. It will require a movement. And movements need everyone.

5 Tiers of Multiplication

The 5 Tiers of Multiplication are a simple but powerful tool that helps every church, large or small, and person participate in the movement.

Tier 1: Support a Multiplication Effort

Any person or congregation can support multiplication through their time, talent, or treasure by offering prayer, people, or financial resources. We also invite you to pray about what new thing God might be calling your church to faithfully pursue.

Tier 2: New Ministries to reach the unchurched

Creating new ministries that meet real needs and build relationships with people not currently connected to a church often serving as a first point of engagement.

Tier 3: A New Worship Service or Church within a Church

An existing church starts a new worship service to connect with younger, more diverse groups.

Tier 4: Fresh Expressions & Micro-Communities

New ways of doing church to reach the unchurched outside the walls where people gather around shared interests or common goals.

Tier 5: New Church Starts

Launching new congregations from the ground up including new campuses, locations, adoptions, other models. These are typically “Greenhouse projects.”
