Hyo-Jin Kim

Originally from South Korea, Rev. Dr. Hyo-Jin Kim earned a Master of Divinity at Methodist Theological University and a doctoral degree in political science at Korea University, both in Seoul, South Korea. He then graduated from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio and pastored several churches in the West Ohio Conference before answering God's call to become a missionary. "From my youth," he says, "God has guided me along an unpredictable path. While many attempts to achieve diverse goals have failed, they consistently opened new windows of opportunity, allowing God's new direction."

Ministry

Kim is a missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church and was commissioned by the West Ohio Conference in 2024. He serves as coordinator for Pilgrimage of Justice, Reconciliation, and Unity for the World Council of Churches in Geneva, Switzerland. "In this role, I accompany churches and communities as they seek healing, peace, and transformation in a world often marked by division and pain. Through dialogue, shared prayer, and concrete acts of solidarity, we strive to reflect the hope of God’s kingdom — a reconciled and united humanity," Kim says.
