Hurricane Melissa swept through the Caribbean, leaving behind devastation in Jamaica and Haiti.
UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, has begun responding with grants to help with the immediate needs of the people impacted by this event. But your help will be needed in the days ahead.
Here are some of the ways you can act:
- PRAY – Pray for the people of Jamaica, Cuba, and other Caribbean islands in the path of Hurricane Melissa, one of the strongest hurricanes to ever make landfall in the Atlantic.
 - GIVE – Give financial support to those impacted by supporting UMCOR’s International Disaster Response Fund, Advance #982450.
 - DONATE – Donate relief supplies through West Ohio’s Fall UMCOR Supply Collection, including hygiene and cleaning kits. In East Ohio, relief supplies may be taken to Gay Street UMC in Mt. Vernon.
 - GET TRAINED – Register for an UMCOR Early Response Team training, coming up on November 8 in West Ohio and January 17 in East Ohio.
