Celebrate World Communion Sunday on October 5

World Communion Sunday is one of the Special Sundays of the United Methodist Church, which celebrates the unity and diversity of the universal Christian community.

Celebrated this year on October 5, World Communion Sunday is a time for us to gather around the Lord’s table, recognize our unity in Christ, and join with others worldwide in Holy Communion.

Special Sundays like this are set aside each year to deepen the connection between the local church and ministries on a global scale. Individuals and congregations are encouraged to support the churches’ collective efforts through an offering. Contributions fund scholarships for U.S. and international students, as well as grants for global inclusion, diversity, equity, and access training.
