Missionaries represent the work of the church worldwide by building relationships, sharing expertise, and working alongside communities internationally.
The General Board of Global Ministries, an agency of The United Methodist Church, is responsible for training, commissioning, and assigning missionaries to serve in close to 60 countries. Service roles include pastors, educators, health professionals, agriculturists, community organizers, and peacebuilders.
The General Board of Global Ministries serves as the global mission, relief, and development organization for The United Methodist Church, its annual conferences, missionary conferences, and local congregations.
Kate Colbow now serves as the Conference Secretary for Global Ministries for both the West and East Ohio Conferences. She aims to facilitate connections between local churches and global mission opportunities through partnerships with missionaries, mission projects, grant resources from GBGM, and other avenues.
Congregations or groups interested in hosting a missionary can contact Colbow at kate_colbow@yahoo.com.
