Submit Recommendations and Resolutions for Annual Conference by March 1

The Annual Conference Committee on Reference and Procedures is now accepting recommendations and resolutions for the upcoming annual conference Business Session.

A Recommendation asks the Annual Conference to act and may have financial implications for the Annual Conference. Some examples of recommendations include forming a task force, changing an Annual Conference procedural rule, or changing the organizational structure of the Annual Conference.

A Resolution asks the Annual Conference to make a statement about our values as a community and is often aspirational.  Examples of resolutions are supporting legislation being considered in our state or national legislature, or supporting specific ministries within our communities.

Recommendations and resolutions may be submitted by:

  • Boards, or committees of the Annual Conference
  • A local church, through action of its administrative board, charge conference, or church conference
  • Individual lay members of local churches within the Annual Conference
Clergy members of the Annual Conference

For a recommendation and resolution to be considered for the 2026 Annual Conference, it must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) to the Conference Secretary, Chris Clough, at cclough@wocumc.org by midnight, March 1, 2026. Submissions not in the required format will be returned. Please note, it is not necessary to wait until March 1 to submit your recommendation or resolution; the committee will begin working on the submissions as soon as they are received.

If you have any questions, please email Rev. Karen Cook, kcook@wocumc.org, or Chris Clough, cclough@wicumc.org.
