An evening of inspiration, music, and community celebration is planned for Wednesday, October 21, when the 2026 Ignite Peace Annual Gathering: Resistance Rising comes to the Woodward Theater. Attendees will join others from throughout Greater Cincinnati to honor local peacemakers, hear inspiring stories of impact, and celebrate efforts to build a more just and welcoming community. The event's theme, Resistance Rising, recognizes the power of resilience and hope in the face of ongoing challenges.

Ignite Peace mobilizes individuals and organizations across Greater Cincinnati to take action for systemic change and equips them with practical skills, knowledge, and resources to build a culture of nonviolence and anti-racism.

Jan Seymour, from our own United Methodist Community, is being celebrated with the Tending the Flame Legacy Award for her fierce advocate for social justice. Her leadership with the STOP Racism, Violence, & Silence Team was significant since its inception, and she served faithfully for years as our UM representative to the Metropolitan Area Religious Coalition of Cincinnati (MARCC).
