Discipleship Workshop: A SEED Training for Clergy and Laity April 30, 2026
Beth Ortiz, Executive Director of Discipleship Ministries for the East Ohio Conference, will be with us on Thursday, April 30th to introduce SEED as a simple and hopeful way to recognize and grow discipleship in your church. Rather than adding another program or set of expectations, SEED helps you see what God is already doing and join in. Together you'll explore Seek, Engage, Equip, and Deploy as a shared lens for noticing patterns of faith that are already present.
This discipleship workshop will be held at the Great Miami River District office (7388 E Kemper Rd, Cincinnati) and will start at 12:30 with a catered lunch. From 1-3pm, Beth will lead you through a strengths-based approach to discernment that begins with your people, your relationships, and your community. Grounded in the belief that God has already placed a vision within each faith community, this process helps uncover and name what God is calling forth among you. You'll begin to notice where life is already emerging and begin to discern one next faithful step that fits your context.
You will leave with encouragement, a deeper awareness of what God is already doing among you, and a way to continue the work of discipleship within your church. Designed to be accessible and meaningful for all churches, including small membership congregations, rural and urban settings, and those without full time clergy, SEED is not about having more resources. It is about recognizing and growing what is already in your hands.
