Dear Provisional Members of the West Ohio Conference,

Grace and Peace to you in this season of celebrating the birth of the church! Thank you for your participation in the Clergy Session and Annual Conference Services and for your continued good work throughout your ministry journey. Many of you will be planning to interview with the Board of Ordained Ministry (BOM) in January 2024. This communication is to apprise you of updates to the BOM requirements. The Board of Ordained Ministry will require everyone requesting an interview with the BOM to submit their requirements by December 1, 2023, 5:00 p.m. We are making the requirements available to you early so that you have ample time to prepare. You will still need to wait until October 1 for your formal invitation to submit requirements.

The change in our requirements that will affect some is that all Psychological Assessments must be less than five years old, with a Psych Assessment Report dated after between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2023. If your Report is dated prior to January 1, 2019, please plan to take the Psych Assessment on July 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., arrival 45 mins in advance for in person at the West Ohio Conference Center. For those who prefer to be proctored virtually via Zoom, log in is 45 mins in advance as well. The cost is $75.00 for the Assessment and $350.00 for the Interview with the Psychologist. If you need financial assistance, please reach out to your District Superintendent to make your request.

July 28                Psychological Assessment, 1:00 p.m.

August 1               Annual Report form will be emailed to you.

September 15      Annual Reports and Requests to Interview with the BOM are due.

October 1            Based on your request to interview, you will receive an invitation to submit your requirements.

December 1        All requirements are due.

Mid-January       If all requirements have been submitted, you will be invited to an interview.

January 29-30     BOM Interviews, location TBD
