The UMFWO Offers New Resources for Clergy and Church leaders

Clergy and church leaders can take advantage of various resources from the United Methodist Foundation of West Ohio (UMFWO), available in May.

These resources are designed to support stewardship campaigns, enhance legacy planning, provide education on multi-generational givers, and more.

April 1 – Registration is open for the Generosity Summit. This two-day educational event offers exceptional teaching on stewardship, church investing, legacy planning, and more. Make your plans to attend! Registration is online here.

May 1 – Registration opens for the 2nd online cohort of Saving Grace Clergy Edition. The free class led and taught by Rev. Anna Guillozet begins on Monday, July 14, and continues once a week for 8 weeks. Participants who complete the course are awarded a stipend of $250. Register online here.

Special Clergy Scholarship - Clergy serving in any appointment within West Ohio may be eligible for a Clergy Financial Wellness Initiative (CFWI) Scholarship to attend both the Saving Grace program and the Generosity Summit.

To qualify, applicants must demonstrate financial need due to significant life events within the past five years that negatively impacted their income and/or a lack of access to financial literacy education throughout their lives.

The scholarship includes:

  • A $500 stipend upon completion of the Saving Grace: Clergy Edition
  • Free registration for the Generosity Summit, taking place September 15–16
  • A complimentary one-night stay at Maumee Bay State Park Lodge and Conference Center

Clergy can apply for the CFWI scholarship when registering for the Saving Grace class or by contacting the Foundation directly.

May 13 – Best Practices for Church Investing webinar 7:00 p.m.

The UMFWO is excited to roll out a new resource in the West Ohio Conference: The Guide to Best Practices for Church Investing, This comprehensive FAQ provides the dos and don'ts of church investment decision-making.

Clergy leaders and their finance committee memebers are invited to join Susan Black for a robust conversation about the new resource.

May 15 – Engaging Millennial and Gen Z Givers webinar 7:30 EDT.
