Award
The United Methodist Foundation of West Ohio (UMFWO) has been awarded $6500 from the Clergy Finanical Well-Being Initiative to provide support to West Ohio clergy to participate in two upcoming Foundation events: the clergy cohort of Saving Grace; and the Generosity Summit on Sept 11-12. The funds will provide up to 8 Clergy Financial Well Being Fellowships. These fellowships include:
- A $500 stipend to clergy who complete the Saving Grace clergy cohort*, online, July 10-Sept 10, 2023
- Free registration and one night of housing for the 2-day Generosity Summit Sept. 11-12 at Deer Creek State Park.
* Fellows are expected to complete the course. Completion of the course means participating in at least 80% of the course content as measured by class attendance records. Fellows who do not complete the course forfeit the full stipend.
Eligibility
Eligible persons must hold a current appointment in a local United Methodist Church in West Ohio and show how they fit at least one of the following criteria: 1) significant negative impact, either personally or financially, from the pandemic or other major life event since 2020; and/or 2) adversely impacted by lack of access to financial literacy education.
Process
Eligible clergy may apply by completing an online application. All applications must be received by June 23, 2023.
