“Then the one seated on the throne said, 'Look! I’m making all things new.' He also said, 'Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.'” Revelations 21:5 (CEB)

Dear Ones in Christ Jesus:

I am persuaded renewal, revival, and new life are running loose in our local churches of the West Ohio Conference. Our sense of connection is being strengthened. Let me point to two recent signs that give me joy and are cause for all of us to celebrate and praise God.

On Friday, February 2, more than 200 youth and their leaders met at the Olentangy District Youth Gathering at Powell United Methodist Church. I participated in a Q&A session that centered around my relationship with God, my call to ministry, and some words I could offer those present. It was amazing to worship alongside these incredible young people and to hear their hopes and yearnings for their life in Christ and for the church. I thank God for these leaders of today and for their continuing contribution going forward.

I encourage you to read the rest of the story in this issue of NewsNet.

The 2nd Annual Go Awards was held on Sunday, February 4. Financial grants were awarded to 100 ministries of local churches throughout the West Ohio Conference. These grants spanned the following categories: Community Engagement, Inclusion, Fresh Expressions, Social Transformation, Greenhouse (new churches), Emerging Generations, Family, and Building Bridges.

Although you may not have had the opportunity to participate in these events, you were there. Your financial support and prayers make events and ministries like this move from ideation to implementation. I hope you will take a moment to celebrate what God is doing through you. I am.

Yours, Rejoicing in God’s New Thing,

+Gregory V. Palmer
