St Paul Community United Methodist Church is looking for a new Director of Youth Ministry. This person will lead a dynamic youth program providing weekly activities to include bible study, outreach, recreation, and service activities for 6th through 12th grades in coordination with the worship, fellowship, mission, and vision of St. Paul Community UMC. This part-time position (15-20 hours/week) reports to the Senior Pastor and works closely with the Director of Children’s Ministry. Compensation is $18-$19/hour, non-exempt.

• Live by and support the mission, vision, and ministry of St. Paul CUMC.

• Good planning and organizational skills
• Communicative with youth and parents, in person and digitally


Roles and Responsibilities
1. Lead Youth Activities: Create, plan, and execute a variety of events that will attract and engage grades 6-12 students.
2. Identify, plan, and facilitate youth Christian service outside of church walls three times/year and facilitate/partner on one mission trip (more than one day) per calendar year.
3. Dovetail initiatives into existing church communication networks to promote and report about successes.
4. Develop Ministry Volunteers:
• Identify, recruit, and develop volunteers to assist in accomplishing youth ministry objectives.
• Ensure that all volunteers are trained in the Safe Sanctuary policies.

A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Experience as a participant or leader in a youth group is helpful. You must be able to pass an FBI/BCI background check.
