MIV - Sacred Space: Building Altars in the World
Friday, March 27, 2020 - 6:30pm to Saturday, March 28, 2020 - 4:30pm
Sponsored by the Miami Valley District

Since Noah first exited the ark, humans have built altars to worship God.  As worship moved from wilderness to cathedral, the altar retained its centrality for Christian worship.  Likewise, today, sacred space is created whenever and wherever we seek to encounter God – in worship and small group settings, in hospital rooms and living rooms and meeting rooms.
As Jacob returned to Bethel, God said, “Arise, go …, make an altar there…”  In this course, the participant will develop a theology of sacred space, learn techniques for exploring scripture as basis for sacred space, and hone skills for creating sacred space that might honor God and assist encounter with God in a variety of settings.

Class will be held from 6:30-9:30pm on Friday and 8:30am - 4:30pm on Saturday.
