Bishop Gregory V. Palmer, along with two other West Ohio United Methodists, recently attended the Council of Bishops (COB) Representatives' Training in Baltimore, MD. Rev. E. Neil Gaiser, pastor of Kirkersville UMC in the Capitol Area South district, was invited to attend after completing the United Methodist Ecumenical and Interreligious Training (UMEIT). Its purpose is to gather together Methodists who are interested in ecumenical and interreligious ministry, provide them with networking opportunities, and train them in current trends and practical applications. Mariellyn Grace, Church & Community Worker serving at the Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio and The West Ohio Conference center, attended as a member of the Pan-Methodist Commission, which brings together six Methodist denominations within the U.S. to help foster meaningful cooperation. The COB Representatives' meeting brought more than 50 members of ecumenical organizations together for fellowship and practical training.
