On October 30, St. Mark's UMC (Findlay) welcomed over 175 All In Community ministers, community stakeholders, Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction staff, and returned neighbors to the Northwest Region Faith-based Reentry Summit. Summit participants learned and grew together with a day full of speakers, workshops, panel discussions, and fellowship. The Summit helped All In Community participants move deeper into ministry by connecting them into a stronger network of support for people they are walking with; learning new models for reentry support groups; reevaluating current ministry efforts to build deeper relationships with people they are already serving; discovering new opportunities for ministry; and fueling their passion for building relationships with families and neighbors impacted by crime and incarceration in their home communities. Toledo Zion UMC Pastor Debo Onabanjo recounts how the Summit impacted his ministry efforts: "The Summit was great. I was able to connect two brothers to one of the participants who is going to help them with jobs. I will be reaching out to [another person] to explore how we can partner on the initiative to provide transition support to men returning to Toledo from Allen Oakwood Correctional in Lima." Thank you to St. Mark's UMC (Findlay) and the St. Mark's UMW for their warm hospitality and to the Maumee Watershed, Miami Valley, and Northwest Plains districts for their Summit sponsorship.
