Laity Session Challenges and Energizes Attendees

West Ohio Laity gathered in-person at Bethel International United Methodist Church and virtually on Facebook Live for the 2022 Laity Session.

The participants heard testimonies from two laity: Matt Utt, who works for an afterschool program at Crossroads United Methodist Church and Willie Berman, a missionary who serves at Manos Juntas, a licensed healthcare ministry of the Methodist Church of Mexico.

The event also included worship, a time for conversation and an encouraging message from Bishop Palmer guided by Mark 12:28-34 for the body to reflect on the question: How can we partner with the Triune God to love neighbor as we love ourselves?

For the first time, a Laity Fair was included for ministry leaders to interact with the attendees and answer any questions. Ministries participating were Disaster Response, Missionaries, Lay Servant Ministries, Laity Discernment Retreat, The United Methodist Foundation of West Ohio, Volunteers in Mission, and All in Community.
