Two guest preachers have been announced for this year's West Ohio Annual Conference session at Lakeside-Chautauqua. Rev. Lou Seipel, Head Pastor at Stonybrook UMC in Gahanna, as well as Rev. Dr. Zan Wesley Holmes, Jr., Pastor Emeritus of St. Luke "Community" United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX, will both bring messages during Annual Conference. Rev. Seipel, who is in her 38th year of ministry, has served in a variety of contexts, from a six-point rural charge to campus, urban, and suburban settings, as well as in ministry with the poor. "A good pastor is called to serve folks where they are, not where you are," Seipel says. Seipel also remarked on what a high privilege it is to be called upon to speak at Annual Conference. Dr. Holmes was Adjunct Professor of Preaching at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University for 24 years. Known as much for his community activism as his preaching and teaching, having been elected to the Texas House of Representatives from 1968-1972, Dr. Holmes is also the author of several books.
