The Early Response Training Basic Class will be offered on Saturday, September 18, from 8am-4pm, at Aley United Methodist Church in Beavercreek. This UMCOR training will teach you how to assist survivors of natural disasters in their time of need. You will learn how to provide a Christian presence while taking steps to prevent further damage to the family's personal property, which may include tarping, debris removal, cleaning out flooded homes, etc. FEMA recognizes this training to enter a disaster scene. ERT’s must be recertified every three years. This is an in-person class, so all participants must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Masking is also suggested. A background check is required, and a link to complete this will be provided upon registration. Cost is $40 for the basic class or $35 for recertification.
