If you care for God's Creation and are called to guide your church's response to environmental crises, we invite you to attend the first offering of the Environmental Stewardship Advanced Course. Intended to develop a cadre of UMC laypersons to lead local church efforts in caring for the environment and ensuring ecojustice, this course is open to any layperson in the Conference regardless of their previous association with the Certified Lay Servant program. The course will address the theological underpinnings for environmental stewardship as well as practical behaviors for sustainable living individually, as a church and in community.
The course will occur over two days: Friday, August 17, 6-9:30 pm; and Saturday, August 18, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Location is Hope UMC, 5980 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH. Cost is $35 for meals and materials. Register here. For more information, contact Robert Downs at 937-901-6777 or bobdowns [at] sbcglobal.net (.)
