Camp Widewater Welcomes Larry Wiliford

This summer, campers attending Widewater will be greeted by Larry Wiliford, the interim camp director who joined the West Ohio Camps staff on April 30. Wiliford has a long history in camping ministry. His love of camping began as a high school student when he worked each summer at camp. He began as a counselor-in-training, then on kitchen crew. Eventually, he served as a counselor and Program Director. Following his call to ordained ministry, Wiliford served as a camp director in the Upper New York and Kansas East Conferences. He lives in Jackson, MI, about 90 minutes from Camp Widewater. He follow Scott Jensen, who left for personal reasons.

“If we have learned anything in the last year it is the importance of flexibility. We are excited to welcome Larry to our 2021 summer camp team and look forward to his ministry with our campers,” Ken Overholser West Ohio Camps Director said. Overholser said a full-time, Widewater camp director will be named this fall.
