Four West Ohio Young Adults Elected to Attend the Global Young People's Convocation
Four young adults from the West Ohio Conference, Andres De Arco, Emily Kvalheim, Allison Stickley-Miner, and Dominic Mejia, have been elected to represent the North Central Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church at the Global Young People’s Convocation in Johannesburg, South Africa! The GYPC is a global event of United Methodist young people. It is held every four years to help celebrate the mission and vitality of young Methodists, raise joys and concerns within a global community, highlight and address emerging trends in youth culture, provide a forum on a global stage, and help develop young leaders within our denomination. There is also a legislative forum in which we can propose and discuss legislation related to issues of concern to young people. More information about the Convocation and all the delegates from the North Central Jurisdiction can be found here.
How you can Support West Ohio's Young Adult Delegates
There is much to be done to prepare and there are several ways that you can support this important work and the people doing it.
- PRAYER, take time to pray for the delegates by name as well as the work of the Convocation. In such polarizing and divisive times, the act of coming together is so very essential.
- GIVE, support the delegation financially. Each particpant must raise $3000 for a total of $12,000 for the group. Please consider giving a financial gift to support our young adults.
