Saving Grace

Saving Grace Clergy Edition is an eight-week self-study course with a weekly online cohort. Any clergy interested in this course, click here. Registration is free and those who complete the course will receive $100.

Generosity Summit 2023

The Foundation invites West Ohio clergy, church leaders, and lay persons to attend the inaugural Generosity Summit, September 11-12, at Deer Creek State Park. The one-and-a-half-day conference features expert speakers from around the connection on the topics of stewardship, clergy finance, planned giving, and much more. Sponsors of the Summit include Wespath and Horizons Stewardship.

Registration is online with a fee of $100 per person which includes all meals. For more information click here.

Housing for the Summit is available at Deer Creek State Park Lodge. To reserve a room, please call 740-869-2020 and request the rate and room block for the United Methodist Foundation of West Ohio. Deadline for room reservations Friday, July 28.

 

Fellowships available for eligible clergy to attend both events

The United Methodist Foundation of West Ohio has been awarded $6500 from the Clergy Financial Well-Being Initiative to provide support to West Ohio clergy to participate in two upcoming events. The funds will provide up to 8 Clergy Financial Well Being Fellowships. These fellowships include:
  • A $500 stipend to Fellows who complete the Saving Grace Clergy Cohort, online, July 10-Sept 10, 2023.
  • Free registration and one night of housing for the 2-day Generosity Summit Sept. 11-12 at Deer Creek State Park.
Applicants must hold a current appointment in a local United Methodist Church in West Ohio and show how they have experienced one of the following: 1) a significant negative impact, either personally or financially, from the pandemic or other major life event since 2020; and/or 2) lack of access to personal financial literacy education. Eligible clergy may apply by completing an online application including an eligibility questionnaire. All completed applications must be received by June 23, 2023.
