1 Cor 12:25-27 ' … there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. '
Our theme for the 2014 Healing Weekend is "Strengthening Communities: A Shared Responsibility".
We are an inclusive ministry. Healing Weekends are for all persons living with HIV/AIDS as well as their friends, partners, spouses, families and caregivers. Weekend activities include workshops, live entertainment, small groups that are intended for healing and discussion, a talent show, a candlelight ceremony, Sunday morning worship service, a bonfire, hayride and late-night movies. This year we will also have outside activities, including a nature walk for those interested, swimming in the pool and boating in the pond.
Spirituality, education and creating bonds of friendship are the focus of the HIV/AIDS Healing Weekends. We create a spiritual web by encouraging connection to every person at the Healing Weekend through small healing groups, Sunday church service, a Candlelight Celebration and a meditation room.
We welcome youth ages 13 and above. However, we do not guarantee specific events for youth.
Please let us know of any special needs you may have including mobility difficulties, vegetarian diet, allergies or special medications we should be aware (such as meds that needs to be refrigerated.) Rooms are dormitory style with 7-10 people assigned per room.
