2018 Clergy Ethics Training: Boundaries in Ministry & the Importance of Self Care
Wednesday, June 27, 2018 - 9:00am to 4:00pm
West Ohio Conference

Here are some details of the day:

The curriculum being used is a blend of resources:  1. A portion will be from the nationally recognized curriculum developed by the FaithTrust Institute.  FaithTrust has a long reputation across culture and faith traditions providing leadership to issues of healthy clergy boundaries, safety, and sexual violence to name a few.  The curriculum we will be using is specifically designed to be used by the religious community in helping clergy and leaders learn about and live out of healthy boundaries.  2. Another portion of our curriculum will be from the General Commission on The Status and Role of Women (COSROW) which is being utilized across our denomination.  3.  The curriculum will also include materials developed and presently used in the West Ohio Conference for sexual misconduct and clergy health.

Although our training will focus on sexual ethics, this training moves well beyond that to include many other kinds of ethical situations in which we may find ourselves.

Here is a list of the modules we will cover:

Module 1:          Boundary Basics for Clergy and Leaders

Module 2:         Preserving Boundaries:  Personal and Professional Health

Module 3:         Boundary Violations:  Sexual Misconduct and Pornography

Module 4:         Living Healthy Boundaries:  Internet, Social Media, Finances
