In a culture where women are often seen as inferior to men, the Methodist Mission in Cambodia works to offer leadership trainings and educational opportunities to women. Domestic violence and human trafficking are both prevalent in Cambodia, and the Methodist Mission offers women a safe space where they are treated as beloved children of God. A new initiative called the Shine Project seeks to empower young women by providing vocational training toward a food preparation license or hair/makeup license. Participants can pursue their dreams while being encouraged to view themselves through the eyes of God.
