Sunday School Instructor

St. Luke's United Methodist Church is in need of an Instructor for its Friendship Class on Sundays from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
The Friendship Class is comprised on individuals with various physical and intellectual special needs. $30 per Sunday and $18/hour for up to 3 hours per week of planning and outreach activities (flexible). Maximum compensation is $4,500 per calendar year. A background check is required per St. Luke's Safe Sanctuary Policies. See attached job description. 

Sunday mornings (up to 8 off per year)

Work includes planning and teaching a weekly Sunday School lesson that incorporates, repeats and reinforces the Bible verses and sermon themes that will be used by the pastor of St. Luke’s UMC during the Sunday worship service, invites Christian spiritual growth, and welcomes the participation of all members of the Friendship Class in whatever capacity they are able to do so according to the gifts that God has given them and their limitations. The instructor should be patient, kind and understanding. Prior experience and work with individuals with special needs is a plus.
