St Andrew United Methodist Church is currently searching for a part time Children, Youth and Family Ministry Director. The chosen candidate will serve as director for our Children and Youth Sunday School, coordinate with Fairbrook, our local elementary school, and provide necessary Ministry programs for our children, youth and families. Specific duties for this position include:
Have a growing personal spiritual life and a commitment to be a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ.
Provide appropriate curriculum and spiritual support to the children, youth and families of St Andrew UMC so that they will be nurtured to grow in faith;
Identify, recruit and train leaders as needed for children, youth and family ministries, emphasizing the inclusion of families from Fairbrook Elementary school;
Serve as the Children, Youth and Family Ministry representative on the church Administrative Council.
Candidates who qualify for this position should possess the following qualities:
A strong faith-based background (knowledge of Methodist teaching would be beneficial);
Desire to nurture children, youth and families on their path to becoming Christian believers;
Strong leadership skills including visioning, recruiting and training;
Two years’ experience working with youth and children, preferably in a church or related environment;
The ability to lead and work with a group of volunteers; and the
Ability to communicate and work with community organizations and local schools in order to build and/or enhance existing partnerships and provide guidance to local families within those communities.
Candidates for this position should possess or be working towards a bachelor’s degree. This is a part time position, averaging approximately 20-25 hours per week. The candidate selected for the position will be subject to a full background check. The Children, Youth and Family Ministry Director reports to the lead pastor and the Staff Pastor Relations Committee.
Salary range: $15,000 - $20,000 (Dependent on experience)
