Charitable Gift Annuities

A wise investement in the people, churches and ministries of the West Ohio Conference to advance the Kingdom. It is beneficial to know that giving through a Charitable Gift Annuity allows the opportunity to give today and alson into the future.

A Charitable Gift Annuity pays a guaranteed annuity for life with no investment worries or responsibilities.

To encourage charitable gifts, there are various provisions within the Internal Revenue Code that allow for tax benefits to generous donors. One such approved plan exists for those who transfer money or securities in exchange for an agreement with the Council on Development to pay the annuitant (and a survivor annuitant, if desired) a fixed annuity for life.

There is also an attractive payout rate [e.g. 5.1% for a single annuitant age 70]. The donor has the personal reward of making a meaningful charitable gift and a tax benefit. Setting up an annuity gives the donor an income for the rest of their life while knowing others will be blessed long into the future.

With a minimum gift of $5,000, a donor can decide which United Methodist church or program will ultimately receive the remainder of the gift. It is an efficient process with a one-page application, which takes only a few minutes to complete and can be accomplished via mail, a short visit to the West Ohio Conference office, or a friendly visit from the Council on Development staff.

Quarterly calendar payments are calculated by age of the annuitant(s) and the amount of the gift. Payments begin promptly with the next quarterly cylce.

Connect with other United Methodists as they generously bless others financially.
