Margaret Madison was born and raised in Forest, MS, where she also attended East Mississippi Junior College and Wood College in Mathiston. Margaret spent 11 years as a Church & Community Worker in rural ministry at God's Country Cooperative Parish in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. There she worked with seven churches spread over 250 miles that worked together to share their resources and faith. Margaret moved to Columbus, OH, in 2006, to work with Community Development for All People on the South Side of the city. Margaret has two grown children, Laura and Charles, and one grandchild, Hannah.
Community Development of All People is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to creating a community that welcomes and cares for all people. CD4AP works to improve the economic, social, and spiritual quality of life for residents of the South Side of Columbus. They operate a free store, serve several meals each week, and have a health station on-site. Margaret works with affordable housing at CD4AP, purchasing homes on the south side to rehab and sell at reduced cost to low-income buyers. Through this ministry, people have the dream and hope of owning their own home for the first time. Margaret also works with teams of volunteers that come to assist with housing projects.
