Clear Open Churches for 2019

Bishop Gregory V. Palmer and the Appointive Cabinet seek to match clergy and congregations as they strive toward its missional purpose of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world! As part of the appointive process, they are once again employing its concept called “clear open churches”. Clear open churches are churches/charges where a change of appointment has already been announced to the congregation. These churches are listed below, along with a brief description. There is also a PDF link at the bottom of the page for you to download and print.

If you are an elder in full connection or an associate member and are interested in being considered for one of these clear open churches, the cabinet invites you to send an email to the District Superintendent (DS) of the open church, with a copy to your own DS, stating why you are interested and what gifts you think you bring. The cabinet will employ the information from your interest as part of its appointment-making process. To learn more about the church, check out its website by clicking the name of the church and email the DS. This same list was emailed in January to all active full elder and associate member clergy.
