Youth Ministry: What’s Next?
April 27 | 10:30-12 EST | Colocate Ministry Consulting
The pandemic hit and youth ministry leaders were all left asking, "now what?" The middle and high school students' lives have been interrupted but the struggles and pressures they face remain. As we live into the new normal, let's talk about what's next in youth ministry.
Presenters: Rev. Brent Dearnell and Rev. Kate Smith
Brent has served as a volunteer, interim, and full-time youth pastor, discipleship pastor, and executive pastor. Before going into ministry full-time he was a middle school teacher in an urban environment as well as a varsity soccer coach. He has directed a growing student ministry, experimented in a multisite church student ministry, facilitated a large after school program, developed leadership pathways, and led the local church to become a missional partner to area schools. Brent is passionate about helping young people live into their passion, faith, and call.
Kate has served as a youth ministry intern, ministry assistant, and children, student, and young adult pastor. Most recently, she stepped into the role of Pastor of Mission and Outreach which includes being the Director of a youth summer mission program. In each of these roles she has focused on engaging lifelong disciples through service, leadership, and worship locally and globally. Specifically, she mentors high school and college interns as well as create discipleship and service pathways based on age (birth through young adult) and interest which has led to growth in discipleship and engagement of youth, parents, and adults in each context. Kate is passionate about bringing generations together to learn, grow and serve, as well as trying new and innovative ideas to reach new people for Jesus.
The deadline to register is April 25, 2021.
