This is an opportunity to begin your Lay Servant journey or to continue the path you have started. We are offering the required beginners class of Basic Course, refresher classes, and advanced classes.
Is God calling you to a new way of service and asking you to be a local lay servant or certified lay servant?
Lay servants are called to proclaim the gospel in many different ways, in leadership and support roles, to help others grow in a life-giving relationship with Jesus Christ.
At the 2012 General Conference of The United Methodist Church, the name of this leadership development program was changed from Lay Speaking Ministries to Lay Servant Ministries. There is no change in the process of becoming a local church or certified lay servant; however, the role of the lay speaker was added to the program which includes specific preparation and accountability. Lay Speakers who desire to further explore his/her calling, build a ministry team for community impact and
receive theological, cultural and practical ministry training are encouraged to pursue becoming a Certified Lay Minister.
