Developing Young Leaders in Cambodia

From 1975 to 1979, at least 2 million Cambodians died under the brutal reign of Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime. Many of the nation’s young people were killed, leaving behind a vacuum of leadership. Today, about 70% of the population is younger than 35, and 50% is younger than 18. For the Methodist Mission in Cambodia, developing young leaders is absolutely vital for the Church to continue to thrive for generations to come. Ministries with youth and young adults include scholarships for university, a dormitory for university students, job training, and anti-human trafficking initiatives.
