Next Gen Undergraduate Scholarships
Thank you for your interest in a scholarship from Next Generations Leadership at
the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. Based on available
funds, we offer three different scholarship opportunities for undergraduate
students attending accredited institutions of higher education. The three
scholarships are:
1. Student Leadership
Open to any West Ohio United Methodist high school senior or undergraduate
of any institution of higher learning. This fund awards up to ten scholarships
with a minimum $500.00 award per student. Students chosen for this award
must show leadership ability in church, school, and community, and have
maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA. Funds for this award come from the West
Ohio Conference Next Generations Leadership budget.
2. Merit Scholarship
Available to any undergraduate who attends or will attend any United
Methodist college or university. The minimum award is $500.00 and
applicants will be judged based on academic achievement (must have 3.0 GPA
minimum); church, school, and community involvement; financial need; special
preparation for ministry or other service or a combination of these factors.
Funds for these awards are from the rebate of the Student Day Offering which
is coordinated by the General Board of Higher Education and the West Ohio
Conference. Students receiving this award must be a member of a church that
participated in the 2011 Student Day Offering.
3. Ethnic Minority Scholarship
A $3000.00 award available to an incoming freshman of ethnic origin who plans
to attend any United Methodist college or university, has a 2.5 GPA minimum,
