The new headquarters of the Northwest Plains District of the West Ohio Conference will soon be located at 910 E. Third Street in Ottawa. The move consolidates three former offices located in Cridersville, Defiance, and Findlay. District officials purchased the parsonage of Ottawa Trinity UMC to house four employees of the newly formed Northwest Plains
District.

“Funds to purchase the new office did not come from local church offerings, but from the combined property assets of the former districts,” said Rev. Tom Tumblin, Northwest Plains District Superintendent.
“Wise investments on the part of district financial trustees made this purchase possible,” said Tumblin.
The new Northwest Plains District emerges from parts of the former Lima, Findlay, and Defiance districts. The new district includes about 177 United Methodist Churches and nearly 50,000 church members. District offices were recently reduced from 14 to eight in order to streamline and consolidate operations.
The former parsonage is undergoing renovation, and district officials hope to move into their new home by February.
A public open house is planned when the project is complete. For more information, contact district officials at 1-800-589-7828.
