Tell Your Story

In 2012, 19 severe storms – including 10 hurricanes and 939 tornadoes – devastated communities across the United States. United Methodists responded – by donating, volunteering, and praying. The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) deployed 146,835 volunteers in response to 42 disasters in 2012; 23,544 cleaning buckets were distributed to survivors of Superstorm Sandy; 32,820 health kits were sent to those in need following Hurricane Isaac; and 83,624 people were served in some way. In West Ohio, congregations around the conference gathered kits, buckets, donations, and sent teams to help those affected by disaster – and for that, we say, THANK YOU! And we invite you to continue supporting those in need with your time, your prayers, and your generosity.
